HP DV series laptops are notorious for failing video chips. There are a number of reasons why these video issues occur. Some people use the DV series laptops for gaming. These computers were not originally designed for this purpose. Sometimes the video will even fail, regardless of the laptops use. The GPU does not obtain the proper cooling needed. Our Meredith Technology center not only repairs the failed video chip, but also modifies the cooling system, prolonging the life of the chip. We use custom fitted copper shims and high quality cooling compounds to allow the GPU to run cooler.
